A creative space for young people to connect, learn and belong
At Rock Trust, we know that having safe housing is only part of building a better future. Young people also need opportunities to explore their creativity, build confidence and connect with others.
That’s why we’ve partnered with Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop to offer Open Studio sessions — welcoming, creative spaces where young people can try something new, meet people and express themselves through art.
Whether you’re already interested in making things, or you’re just curious to give it a go, Open Studios are a chance to explore creativity in a relaxed and supportive environment.
You don’t have to be already accessing Rock Trust services at our Edinburgh Housing Hub, the Open Studios are available to all young people wanting to take part. Simply email our wellbeing team at [email protected] to register your interest and turn up at one of our next sessions!
All our upcoming sessions will be held from 12-3pm a the Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop, 21 Hawthornvale, Newhaven, Edinburgh, EH6 4JT. Our next sessions are:
- 22nd May
- 17th July
- 25th September
- 13th November
- 4th December

What are Open Studios?
Open Studios are informal creative sessions hosted at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop, one of Scotland’s leading centres for contemporary sculpture and creative learning.
During these sessions you’ll have the chance to:
- Experiment with creative materials and processes
- Learn new practical skills
- Work alongside artists and supportive staff
- Meet other young people in a relaxed, welcoming space
- Take time to focus on your wellbeing and creativity
You don’t need any previous experience in art or sculpture. The sessions are about trying things out, building confidence and enjoying the creative process.
Who can take part?
Open Studios are open to young people who are connected to Rock Trust services.
You might be:
- Living in Rock Trust accommodation
- Receiving support from one of our services
- Recently involved with Rock Trust programmes
