Find Support - how we can help
No – there is a referral process to access support with housing. And unfortunately we can only offer accommodation to young people who have submitted a homeless application through their local council. Please visit our get help now page to find emergency support and how to contact your local council.
Unfortunately there is no one process for making a referral as it depends on the location and type of support you need. Please visit our make an enquiry page to share more detail of your situation, and we will help you find the answer you’re looking for.
No, we support young people who are at risk of homelessness as well as those who are homeless. The definition of homelessness includes those who are sofa surfing, living in overcrowded environments, temporarily staying with friends or family and those who have been asked to leave their accommodation, as well as the more common definitions of homeless such as rough sleeping and staying in temporary accommodation.
We do have specific funding to help young people who are in employment and are looking to move into the private rental sector. We can sometimes support with deposits, first months rent, and other costs associated with a first home.
To access our advice drop-ins no referral is needed. If you would like to access any other Hub activities we just need a completed Introduction Form. To request a link to the electronic form please contact [email protected] for Edinburgh or [email protected] for Glasgow.
No – you can choose to book an appointment by emailing [email protected] but you can also drop in. Visit our Hub webpage to see current drop-in times and other groups and opportunities that the Hub are running.
Get Involved - How you can help
Yes – We accept donations of non-perishable food, toiletries, clothing, and household items. Depending on current activity we may occassionally accept fresh food donations. Please get in touch to find out what we need/ are accepting at the time.
No – We accept donations of unused/unopened food, toiletries, clothes and household items. – please get in touch if you have unused second hand items in their original packaging/ with original labels that we might consider as an exception.
We do not require donations of sleeping bags as don’t operate homeless shelters. Our accommodation comprises flats in the community. We suggest looking for your local shelters to make donations of this kind. In Edinburgh for example we recommend Steps to Hope and Bethany Christian Trust.
We have opportunities to support us with decorating and improving our property and garden spaces, and to run relevant workshops with our young people. We select volunteer groups based on what our young people need and are interested in, and prioritise existing partners and active supporters. Please contact [email protected] to register interest.
