Fundraising and Events Assistant

  • Permanent, Full Time – 36.25 hours a week (subject to a six month probation)
  • Located at Rock Trust Head Office, 55 Albany Street, Edinburgh
  • Salary £16,200 – £20,250 (depending on experience and qualifications)

We are looking to employ an enthusiastic and motivated Fundraising and Events Assistant to work as part of the Fundraising and Communications team. The Fundraising and Events Assistant will focus primarily on working with the team to achieve income targets through events, community, individuals and partnerships, researching new community funding opportunities, assisting with promotional and awareness raising activities and providing administrative support to the Fundraising and Administration Teams.

We are particularly interested in applicants who can meet the following key aspects of the role:

  • Production of content for social media channels. We’re looking for someone who is inquisitive, has attention to detail, can work across the various Rock Trust teams, and who is social media savvy within a professional context.
  • Lead on the development of our Challenge Events and look after our volunteers. We’re looking for someone who is a self-starter, big on problem solving, who is confident and personable – we need you to welcome a range of supporters and make them feel like family.
  • Lead on community fundraising and engage with community organisations such as schools and churches. We need someone who can communicate to a range of audiences, big and small, young or old.
  • Look after our donors and oversee the day to day fundraising admin. We’d like someone who is organised, pro-active, and creative and who has very good written skills.

Salary £16,200 – £20,250 pro-rata

We are seeking a candidate who can provide administrative and reception support. This includes managing the phone system and direct contact with stakeholders, HR administration, assisting with fundraising activities and event organisation, organising meetings and minute taking and to provide assistance to the management team with any other appropriate duties.

We want an enthusiastic and confident individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join our team at Albany Street in Edinburgh. It is important that the individual is able to work well on their own or as part of a small team and is capable of producing work of high accuracy.

We are looking for new Board Members who can help us expand the range of skills around the table. At this time, we are seeking individuals with senior experience in public or third sector leadership and/or accounting and audit.

Candidates do not need experience or knowledge of homelessness or youth work but must be committed and passionate about making a difference for young homeless people. You should hold, or have held, senior roles in your sector preferably with experience of setting strategy and managing senior teams.
