The Crisis Service
The Crisis Service is a friendly, safe space which provides crucial services to young people aged 16-25 who may be:
• Homeless or at risk of homelessness
• Roofless (Rough Sleeping)
• Socially Excluded, Vulnerable and not sure where to turn.
The Crisis Service offers a 365 day-a-year confidential, 1:1 provision at the pace of each individual.
The Projects Aims
We recognise that in a lot of cases, it is more than just a bed for the night that vulnerable young people need. We aim to offer a service that resolves the immediate crisis but also helps to identify the reasons for the situation they find themselves in and provide the necessary advice and support to maintain a life off the streets.
What's On Offer?
The Crisis Service offers confidential support designed by experienced staff and service users in order to best meet the needs of vulnerable young people in Edinburgh and the Lothians.
• A friendly & safe open access, walk in service between 9am & 11am to access staff support in Housing, Emotion, or financial crisis 365 days a year.
• Shower & Laundry facilities for those young people who don’t have access to elsewhere.
• Advice and advocacy from staff.
• The opportunity to make appointments with staff throughout the day.
Opening Times
We are open to any young people in crisis to walk in and access staff support daily between 9am & 11am.
Outside of those times staff are available to meet with young people throughout the afternoon. Young people can either pop in to the office or make an appointment during the open access time (9am – 11am).
Staff
Our staff are friendly, supportive and highly experienced. They are here to listen to you and to provide the support you need, when you need it. If we don’t know an answer to a question, we will find out who can!
