How Companies And Their Staff Can Support Our Work
The Rock Trust has long valued the contribution that companies can make to its work. We know from experience that the relationships that we develop in the business world generate positive outcomes not only for oursleves, but for the participating organisation (e.g through team building, a chance to develop new skills etc). In all cases the partnerships are always highly rewarding and motivational.
There are a number of key ways that external companies can get on board as supporters of The Rock Trust:
- Staging a one off fundraising event for us
- Entering a team to one of our own fundraising events (see Events section)
- Sponsoring a Rock Trust event
- Adopting the Trust as its chosen 'charity of the year'
- Encouraging staff to support us through payroll giving
- Donating professional skills e.g. IT, Marketing, Design
- Supporting a member of staff to volunteer for the organisation e.g. Board Member (see section on Volunteering)
- Take up a 'Team Challenge' day
If your company is able to support us remember to find out if it has a policy of match funding sums that its staff team raises. Many organisations do offer this and it can in cases double the value of your funrasising efforts!
Team Challenge Days
The Rock Trust provides supported accommodation to young people in Edinburgh and West Lothian. There are always properties that need to be loved back to life, and gardens to take care of. These types of tasks are very often good for team challenge events and we have run a number of very successful ones in the past. Indoor events are often set as a ‘Changing Rooms’ challenge – involving redesign and decoration, and outdoor ones, tidying up, cutting back and planting – with the potential for redesigning the landscaping. Both these types of events are offered throughout the year, with the proviso that outside events are best avoided in the winter months!
