Hilton Edinburgh Grosvenor bring the magic of Christmas to homeless youth
We are delighted that new supporters Hilton Edinburgh Grosvenor very kindly donated a taste of Christmas to vulnerable young people in Scotland’s capital.
On Tuesday 20th December, 20 of our young people, all affected by homelessness, came together in one of Edinburgh’s finest hotels for a spectacular Christmas feast.
The youngsters received a warm welcome, a delicious three course meal, a Christmas gift and an afternoon full of festive activities.
Kate Polson, chief executive of the Rock Trust, said: “Christmas is a wonderful time of year for sharing with family and friends, but it is important to remember that there are many vulnerable young people out there whose circumstances mean Christmas never comes.
“We are really pleased to be able to offer some of those we help a positive and unforgettable experience this festive period. We would like to thank Hilton Edinburgh Grosvenor for helping us provide for those less fortunate and spread a little bit of Christmas cheer.”
Gordon Fraser, general manager, Hilton Edinburgh Grosvenor, said, “We were pleased to support Rock Trust in hosting this event. Giving back to the community and supporting local youth, especially those who need the most help, is an important part of our company culture. Thank you to Rock Trust for allowing us to help create such a special festive day leading up to Christmas for these young people whose lives are affected by homelessness.”
The event follows a successful year for us; we reached the milestone of 25 years helping Scotland’s youth, setting up a coalition with the Scottish Government to end youth homelessness in the next 10 years, and raising over £45,000 at the annual Sleep Out last month.
We are also calling for the generosity of supporters to donate what they can to the Ethical Gift campaign.
By donating to the charity’s Ethical Gift campaign, you can help brighten the Christmas of many young people throughout the country by providing funds for heat, electricity, travel or warm clothes.
